In 2018, Ashley graduated from Northwest Career College with a Certification in Phlebotomy. She eagerly stepped into the healthcare field with new knowledge and skills. Witnessing firsthand the access her child had while on hospice made a difference in their lives.  It was a pivotal moment for her. She realized the importance of accessible and compassionate healthcare for her child and the entire community.

Ashley is a phlebotomist with five years of experience in the field. Today, I want to take you on a journey through my career, from graduating in phlebotomy to working in a Patient Service Center (PSC) and hospital over time, and finally, to my current position with Sunrise Pathology Services. Ever since I can remember, I've been passionate about healthcare and helping others. After completing my phlebotomy training, I hit the ground running and quickly found a job at a local PSC. My time there was invaluable, as I had the opportunity to collect blood samples from a diverse range of patients. After three fulfilling years at the PSC, I decided to challenge myself further and transitioned to working in a hospital setting. This new environment exposed me to a wider variety of medical cases and allowed me to collaborate closely with doctors and nurses. As my journey continued, I came across an incredible opportunity to create solutions for my community for convenient specimen collections. I combine my technical skills and passion for providing compassionate care in my current role. Every patient deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and I strive to make sure they feel comfortable and valued during every interaction.

Phlebotomy at Sunrise brought a new dimension to my skill set. I learned to adapt my technique to cater to each patient's specific needs. Patience and empathy became even more critical in creating a positive experience for those facing various challenges. The connection and trust I developed with patients during this time made my profession even more rewarding.
